Zwicker Land Design won a national award from the Perennial Plant Association for the design and execution of the “Large Garden Project.”
The summary of the project as written on the Perennial Plant Association website: The client of a Southwestern Pennsylvania home wanted a water garden composed of an upper pond/bog area to act as a natural filter for the stream and a lower pond. The client also wanted a four-season interest with the most color in summer when the family hosts many outdoor events. Ornamental grasses provide structure and interest year-round. Plants were chosen for their low maintenance and lack of appeal to animals, including deer and rabbits. The design provided terrific perennial combinations, as noted by the judge
